Roswell’s 31st Annual Possum Trot 10K
May 18, 2009 by Pam Salls
The 31st annual Possum Trot is Saturday, May 20th. A perfect qualifier for the famed Peachtree Road Race, the popular Possum Trot is also a great conditioning course. The course is flat, fast and fun with scenic views along the Chattahoochee River.
The course starts and ends at the entrance of the Chattahoochee Nature Center located at 9135 Willeo Road in Roswell. Parking is allowed at the Nature Center, but if you park there, plan on sticking around for post-race activities, as the road will be closed until at least 9:30. There is additional parking at the St. Francis School on Willeo.
Registration is available one of three ways; online at www.active.com, snail mail by sending your check and a registration form to the Chattahoochee Nature Center, or in person at any Big Peach Running Location. Registration is $23 through May 29th and $30 as of race day. There is a 1-mile fun run and it’s $15 through race day.
There will be mile splits called and participant t-shirts will be handed out after the race. Lots of food, music and fun available afterwards. All proceeds benefit the Chattahoochee Nature Center, what better reason to lace up your running shoes!
