Time Again for Roswell’s Premiere Ice Cream Event

August 26, 2009 by Pam Salls

It’s that time again and I am SO glad!  Miss Mary’s Ice Cream Crankin’ event is this Sunday, August 30th.  With over 170 different flavors and only 2 hours, I’ll definitely be making the best of it!

All the ice cream is hand cranked by volunteers.  For $5, you can eat all the ice cream you can handle!  In addition, there will be snow cones and popcorn available.  There will be entertainment too; an ice cream eating contest and an ice cream stacking competition as well as music.  The festivities take place on Roswell Square and begin at 2:00 until 4:00.

If you’re looking for something different to do this weekend, join A Southern Trilogy in Roswell for the first annual “Trilogy Trolley Crawl” taking place tomorrow on Saturday, August 22 from 7 p.m.-11:30 p.m.  The event will take place on the grounds of three of Roswell’s historic homes – Barrington Hall, Bulloch Hall and Smith Plantation.  Trolleys will transport guests between the sites. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door and include three drink tickets and three sampler plate tickets.  Advanced tickets can be purchased at the Chandlery and the Roswell Visitors Center.  Parking is available at each site.

Loan Modification Scam Alert

There’s a new scam out there that Roswell residents should be aware of.  Many homeowners have been opting to modify the current terms of their mortgage loan vs. a short sale or even worse, a foreclosure scenario.  Modifying the terms of your current loan allows for homeowners to remain in their homes, but at a reduction in their monthly payment.
