Experience Roswell’s FROOTS Cafe
September 8, 2009 by Pam Salls
I guess if my last two posts are any indication, I like to eat! Visit the relatively new Froots café for a light breakfast, lunch or yummy smoothie. They also have fresh-squeezed juices in orange, carrot, grapefruit. Delicious shakes are on the menu as well as wheatgrass shots, always a must-try. My favorite smoothie so far, is the Screaming Bull, made from strawberries, pineapples, strawberry-kiwi juice and orange sherbet. A full can of Red Bull is added so you can have ‘wings’. My friend got the Berry Bopper. Fat-free vanilla yogurt mixed with blueberries, raspberries, strawberry-kiwi juice. She shared a small taste and it’s really good!
Now on to the real stuff: wraps, grillers and salads. Oh my! The veggie wrap is a perfect accompaniment to the smoothie. Go-Go Veggie is it’s name and I’m convinced it’s the blue cheese that gives it just the right ‘kick’ veggies need. Tofu, tomato, onion, sprouts, black olives, spinach and balsamic vinaigrette plus the blue cheese make this wrap a perfect light lunch. There are 19 other wraps to choose from if veggies aren’t your thing. My friend had the BBQ Flyer, Ciabatta bread with mesquite chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, romaine lettuce, onion, BBQ Sauce and Ranch Dressing. Her verdict was a definite yes!
Prices are very reasonable: Wraps $4.99-$6.49; salads $5.99; soups $1.99-$3.29; smoothies, shakes and fresh-squeezed juices $3.99-$5.99. Froots is located behind the Moe’s/Fishbones/Starbucks complex in front of the old Linen’s and Things at the corner of Woodstock and Hwy. 92. Make sure you flash your gym membership for 10% off.
