Historic Roswell Ranks in Money Magazines Top 100

July 12, 2010 by Pam Salls

It seems that with the majority of the news now a days being so negative, it seems we are just beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  If you focus only on the Nation’s averages, life in the typical American town frankly doesn’t seem so hot right now.

But Money Magazine has conducted its annual search for the best places to live in America.  This year, they focused on the nation’s small cities with population of $50,000 to $300,000.  Their search criteria included the optimal in job opportunities, fiscal strength, schools, low crime rates, good health care, interesting activities/recreation all factors that help make a town a great place for raising a family.

Nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac, sits a large 4 bedroom contemporary home waiting for a new owner.  This home is located in popular River Ridge subdivision, a short distance from Roswell’s historic square.  River Ridge is popular with families with its mix of both contemporary and traditional homes and because of its active swim and tennis amenity package.

The previous owners of this home had already started renovations in the kitchen; granite countertops and new cabinets are both in great condition.  The baths still need updating and the flooring in the great room needs to be replaced.  Sitting on a full basement, this 1,843 square foot 4 bedroom, 2 ½ bath home is listed for $283,000.

Roswell’s Housing Stats Are In!

May 7, 2010 by Pam Salls

Roswell’s first quarter sales statistics are in and they look great!  A total of 220 single family residences sold in Roswell from January thru March 2010, a whopping 45% above last years sales for the same time frame.

The current mindset is that this spurt in sales activity is the result of better housing affordability and the homebuyer tax credit.  Sales are expected to decline in the months ahead until later in the second half of the year and into 2011.  Sales are then projected to become self-sustaining if the economy can add jobs at a respectable pace and home buyer demand returns as they see home values stabilizing.

Experience Roswell’s Magnolia Walk

February 8, 2010 by Pam Salls

Within a short walking distance to Historic Roswell’s shops and restaurants, is lovely Magnolia Walk.  This small, quiet community has just 52 houses.  Built in the late 1990’s by Ryland, the homes in Magnolia Walk are mostly traditional architecture.

Prices in Magnolia Walk range from high $200,000’s for a home on a slab to mid $300,000’s for a home on a basement.   There were 3 sales last year in 2009.  Two homes on slabs sold for an average of $275,000. The other home was on a finished basement and sold for $330,000 in 17 days.  The seller received 99% of their asking price.
